approx. 20-30 minutes
We recommend a game time of 20-30 minutes, but the admin can set the duration when the game starts. You can see which settings apply to your game on the start screen. During the game you will see the remaining game time on the timer at the bottom of the main screen.
4-40 players You can play with a maximum of 10 Team, per team there can join as many people as you like. We recommend playing with at least 4 teams, but a max of 4 people per team.
60 seconds
After a tag you are out for 60 seconds, before you can continue playing again. The admin is able to change this setting.
30 seconds
After you press the capture button, a timer of 30 seconds starts. After that you will get a success message and the air drop points. You can see the remaining time until the capture in the main menu at the countdown bar around the compass map or in the camera menu at the bar at the top. The admin is able to change this setting.
approx. 100 for Tags, 300 for Air Drops
Catag chooses the best point distributions for your game depending on the number of players, the number of teams and the field size. The admin can also change the number of points manually. You can see which settings are valid for your game in the start screen.
Half of your point difference
If you can tag the hunted team you get half of your point difference, but at least the point amount for a normal catch. This means that the further back you are, the more worthwhile it is for you to catch the team with Head Hunt effect.
Maximum 3 minutes
The effect lasts a maximum of 3 minutes, but will end earlier if the first ranked team is successfully caught. If one of the other teams is tagged during the Head Hunt, that team will also be unable to win the reward (but the other teams still can). The admin is able to change this setting.
approx. 1 - 3 Air Drops
Catag selects the appropriate number of Air Drops for your game based on the number of players, the number of teams and the size of the field. The admin can also change the number of air drops manually. You can see which settings apply to your game in the start screen.
Note that sometimes there are less air drops in the game than the maximum possible number, because after capturing an air drop a few seconds pass before a new one appears.
No
To start the capture it is enough to press the button once. After that you can release the button and switch to other menus (for example the camera menu).
Yes
While your Air Drop Capture is running, you can continue to use the camera. The timer continues to run in the background and is visible in the camera menu as a bar at the top of the screen.
No
The app detects when the photo was taken and blocks the sending process.
If you see the message 'Bad GPS', it means that the accuracy of your location is exceptionally low. If this is the case, your GPS data will be ignored by the system until its accuracy improves. Otherwise, you can use the game as usual.
It is possible that the opposing team was immune at the time the photo was taken. This is the case if:
1. this team was still tagged at the time
2. this team was tagged by you recently
3. this team tagged you a short time ago
Try tagging the team again.
If these errors are ruled out, try restarting the app.
If your position is not displayed, there could be several reasons:
1. make sure you have sufficient GPS reception. If there is no reception, you should see a small warning symbol above the compass map to the right.
2. Server error: It is possible that your phone has lost connection to the server. Try restarting the app.
3. Check your phone's permission settings. You should allow Catag to access your location 'while using the app' or 'always'.
Place of the game and consideration for passers-by
It is most important that your playing field does not include busy streets. In addition, at the start of the game, we recommend that all players show consideration for other pedestrians and traffic participants, and that teams be deducted points or disqualified for misconduct.
approx. 20-30 minutes
You can determine this as admin at the beginning of the game. We recommend a game duration between 20 and 30 minutes.
In order to play Catag, the admin and players must be able to distinguish the teams from each other. Ideally, the players know each other's names. Then the admin can activate the name mode and play without team markers. If this is not the case, team marking is necessary.
To do this, all players must place their team number or team color on the front and back of their torso. There are several methods of doing this:
-attach a sheet of paper with the team number using tape or safety pins.
-select name mode, then enter a distinctive piece of clothing as the name instead of your own name
Let us know if you had another creative idea to mark your teams!
Use team signs instead of names
In 'Sign Mode', players must select team colors for tags instead of names. Use this option if your players do not know each other by name and you have prepared team signs.
Automatically accept all images
Trust Mode is a game mode that allows the admin to play as well. If the Trust Mode is activated, every sent image will be accepted immediately (without human referee in between). At the end of the game, each image can be viewed again. If a picture is invalid, points can be deducted from the corresponding group during the evaluation afterwards.
Yes
The admin can deduct points from a team. This function can be used, for example, if a team violates safety requirements or other individually agreed game rules.
The 'Number of Air Drops' option specifies the maximum number of air drops that can be active at the same time.
The 'Points for tag' option specifies how many points a team receives when it photographs another team or how many points a team deduction receives that was photographed.
The 'Points for Air Drop' option specifies how many points a team receives when they successfully capture an Airdrop.
The 'Frequency Head Hunt' option roughly specifies how often the head hunt takes place.
approx. 50% per hour
It depends on your device, but you use approximately 50% of your battery per hour played.

Restart.
The app has probably temporarily lost the connection to the server. Restart it to force a “status update”.
Yes
The admin and all the players need internet to transfer the photos from one to another.
